Student Loan Application Tips
4 Easy Steps
  1. Pick up a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from your high school or university guidance counselor. The Federal government will determine your eligibility for financial aid programs.
  2. Complete the FAFSA and mail it early. There is heavy competition for funds, so you should file in early April. A Student Aid Report (SAR) will be sent to you in four - six weeks.
  3. Submit the SAR to the school you plan to attend. The school will issue you an "Award" letter that indicates your eligibility for specific financial aid programs.
  4. If the "Award" letter indicates that you qualify for a Stafford student loan or if your parent needs a Federal PLUS loan, contact Vantria FCU's Loan Department.
